Be an Informed Voter!
Are you an informed voter? Or one who just walks in the voting booth and hits "STRAIGHT TICKET" because you don't know any better?
We are posting these links to help you be an Informed Voter. One who knows what is going on and who is making the decisions for us. And who to complain to when things need to be said.
I generally get my world news from sources outside the US. I like to hear opinions from outside the US. These sites often had news, videos and pictures that you will not see in American media.
The BBC has a long tradition of hard, honest, global journalism. They talk about issues like Ukraine and HAMAS in a way that you won't see on American media.
Deutsche Welle is the German state news company. The site is in English, but you can also follow it in German, if that's your thing. Again, they have a whole different perspective on what is going on globally.
Back in the bad old days of the Cold War the United States broadcast radio into the old Soviet Union in order give the people in Eastern Europe news from the Western world. This was called Radio Free Europe and Radio Liberty. Because of oppression and suppression of news we continue to produce RFE and RL.
I used to read several Russian news sites, but that was before the government started killing and imprisoning journalists. Now there are no Russian news sources that I trust.
In his podcast Listening to America Clay Jenkinson travels across America talking to people from all walks of life on a variety of topics. I have to warn you, the guy is well educated, reads books and talks like you are the same way. He can hard to take sometimes he sounds like a college professor. But he truly cares about America and has no problem calling out people he thinks have messed up.
I'll warn you upfront, My Old Kentucky Podcast is a progressive podcast, generally focused on state and Louisville news. They do a lot of interviews with Democratic candidates and are a good source of what is going on in Louisville.
Forward Kentucky is another progressive podcast focusing on Kentucky state news. I actually pay for this one, it's that good.
I hope that this helps. If you have a suggestion on something that I should add, please let me know. I don't care if it's left, right or upside down, as long as it is respectful and thoughtful

I have to be honest. We don't really watch over the air TV anymore. Or pay for cable or satellite. So no CNN, no Fox, no MSNBC. Not even WAVE or WLKY.
About the only kind of TV news we watch is the PBS channel, KET. They have some fantastic programming, all aimed at life in Kentucky. Not just news, but travel, history, culture. It's a great resource!
We need to support our local papers! They provide the coverage which directly affects us the most.
